Private Residence – Northern Vermont

Nestled on the edge of a lake, this camp relies on steel pipe-column piers and the natural ledge as its “foundation”.  Located on a steep embankment and on fractured ledge, we working closely with our geotechnical engineering partners to shore up the ledge and “anchor” the camp back down as to minimize disturbance to the project site. This 2,210 sq.ft. camp was framed with Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL), Manufactured I-Joists (TJI) and a hybrid of wood and steel beams to get the tiered 2nd floor effect and provide large unobstructed views of the lake below.
