Round Lake Fire Department: Station No. 1 – Round Lake, New York
Totaling over 15,000 sq.ft. of conditioned space the Round Lake Fire Department looked to bring that Main Station into the 21st century. Incorporating three apparatus bays and one drive-thru apparatus bay, a community meeting room, training rooms and expanded fire fighters quarters, this newly constructed fire house replaced the previous pre-engineered metal building. The expansive use of glass for the apparatus doors and curved transoms illuminates the apparatus bays throughout and highlights the structural steel and bar joist construction which allowed for an open work space with spans exceeding 50ft.
