St. Paul and Maple Street – Burlington, Vermont

Installed in the late winter of 2020 this sculpture rises 12ft to 17ft above the street and is recessed into a rain garden. Structural steel pipe was used to support two versions of the sculpture; one which has four cattails and the other which has three cattails and a red-winged black bird. The pipes are anchored to precast concrete foundations set below the rain garden as to not impede its function.

The project was commissioned by the Burlington Great Streets Initiative which makes investments in the downtown Burlington public infrastructure.
